Hi Jess, just wanted to say thank you for having Izzy at dance challenge this week, she has had an amazing time and loved all that you did with them! Also just about Street Beatz in general, how lovely it is that you give all the children the chance to shine no matter what. In an age where kids have lots of pressure on them to be the best and compete for everything, it’s so lovely to see them all up on stage having a blast. I’m sure that’s why they all learn so well from you guys as you seem to have an amazing ability to let them all be the best! I love the fact that all the teachers and helpers interact with the kids so well and are so nurturing. Anyway enough waffling! I can’t recommend Street Beatz highly enough

For more information about StreatBeatz, please visit our About Us page or our Safeguarding Policy can be found HERE.
At Street Beatz we know how important it is to show off our dance moves to our grownups, that is why at least twice a year we have special “Parent Watching Weeks” when everyone is invited along to see what we’ve been upto in class. This not only teaches children performance skills but more importantly builds upon their confidence, helps to overcome social anxiety and gives them an opportunity to shine! Throughout the rest of the term parents are welcome to wait in the foyer during class so that there is less distraction. We do however understand that sometimes a brand new class and lots of new faces can be scary, so if its your first class at Street Beatz and your dancer is a little shy, you’re very welcome to stay until they feel more comfortable without you. All we ask is please do not use mobile phones for any reason during this time.
As Street Dance can be quite heavy footed we do ask that dancers wear trainers or plimsolls to class along with anything else that’s nice and stretchy and they feel comfortable moving around in. No skirts, dresses or jewellery please.
If you are in the class to encourage your new dancer, siblings are very welcome to sit and wait quietly with you. To avoid disappointment however, they will need to book a place if they wish to join in.
What makes us special is that we are a very laid back dance school, the most important thing to us is that your child is having fun while they’re learning to dance! There is always lots to get involved with, we offer opportunities to take part in performances, N.A.D.T Street Dance Exams, Competitions and professional theatre productions. Or you can simply come along each week for fun. Theres always lots going on but never any pressure to get involved.
Don’t worry! We’ve been teaching dance for almost 15 years and most first time dancers start off a little shy, even the most confident performers! It can be a big thing starting something brand new where you may not know anyone so we only encourage dancers to take part when they are ready to do so. Sometimes this can take a little while but that’s ok, most dancers can be persuaded once they hear the music!
